Tyrolean Festival Erl
Gustav Kuhn, born in Salzburg, found his second home in the lovely Tyrolean village of Erl, the center of Passion Play performances located right between Kufstein and Rosenheim. In 1997 he founded the Tyrolean Festival Erl which has been attracting music lovers from all over the world. The small but very special Festival is known as an "tightrope act of the most ambitious projects", according to the German Frankfurter Rundschau.
The Tiroler Festspiele in Erl has a wide variety of music. You will find a colourful range of styles, such as classical, folkloric, sublime and funky music. It even includes a rich variety of musical arts: great operas, literature-concerts of the 19th century, new music, jazz, folkloric music, and all other forms that would relate to these styles.
For years the Tyrolean Festival Orchestra and Choir have been inspiring the public. The orchestra comprises of the finest young musicians in Europe, as well as excellent talent from around the world. The Tyrolean Festival choir consists mainly of members of the choir group CANTAMUS under the direction of Jacek Benn. Tyrolean Festival choir soloist will perform in the production of “Tristan and Isolde“.
